Types of Membership

If you are interested in joining us, DIA currently offers two types of membership:

  • Full membership: only for legal entities
  • Associate membership: for legal entities and individuals

Members must at least have regular activities in a European country as defined in the Articles of Association (Article 4.1.1), contribute to the overall value chain, and represent interests that are relevant to the association. Members can belong to one of these four categories:

  • Industry organisation
  • SME organisation
  • Research organisation
  • Other organisations, such as associations

In addition to the above four categories, the DIA recognizes a special class of Full members, Founding Member status, that was granted to those Full Members that joined the DIA within the initial six-month period.

Key Membership Benefits

DIA memberships offer the following benefits:

  • Unique chance to participate in and influence the European industry position on key technological issues
  • Insight and influence on directions and activities of the DIA
  • Early visibility and consultation on EU and national activities relevant to the DIA
  • Participation in DIA-led creation of R&D activities of relevance to the DIA
  • Eligibility to lead DIA Working Groups
  • Exercise voting rights in all DIA GA decisions (only for Full members)
  • Apply for a seat in the DIA Board (only for Full members)

Membership Fees

Starting from 1st January 2026, the current fee structure foresees 5000€ for industry and association members and 500€ for SME members, with no fee proposed for research members or natural persons joining as Associate Members.
