Upcoming Events

Data Innovation Summit, 6-8 May 2026

Held in Stockholm (May 6–8, 2026), this is the largest applied AI and data event in the Nordics. The summit is structured around “stages” dedicated to Data Engineering, Cloud-Native Architecture, and Generative AI. It bridges the gap between technical data science and business strategy, focusing on making organisations “AI-ready” through robust data pipelines and governance.

Relevance to DIA community

For those in the datacom space, the “Data Platform & Architecture” stage is vital. It covers the infrastructure requirements needed to move and store the massive datasets required for Generative AI, providing insights into future demands for high-bandwidth data centre interconnects and low-latency storage networking.

ENISA Telecom & Digital Infrastructure Security Forum 2026, 7 May 2026

Taking place on May 7, 2026, in Nicosia, Cyprus, this is a specialised, high-security forum (often no-streaming/no-recording) organized by the EU Agency for Cybersecurity. It brings together national authorities and industry specialists to discuss the resilience of subsea cables, security in 6G development, and protecting telecom networks against sophisticated state-sponsored cyberattacks.

Relevance to DIA community

This is critical for members involved in critical infrastructure security. The discussions on NIS2 implementation and the “trusted ICT supply chain framework” directly impact which vendors and technologies are permitted in European telecom backbones and digital infrastructure.

Stockholm Tech Show 2026, 26-27 May 2026

Co-located with several niche expos (including the Datacentre Expo and Cloud Expo), this event (May 26–27, 2026) is the Nordic region’s hub for digital transformation. It attracts over 5,000 decision-makers and focuses on the “hands-on” side of technology: cybersecurity, DevOps, and mobile connectivity (5G/6G).

Relevance to DIA community

The Datacentre Expo within this show is the primary draw. Association members can network with facility operators, hardware vendors, and cooling experts, focusing on the specialized cabling, switching, and power infrastructure required to support the next generation of cloud services in Europe.

EU Digital Summit 2026, 9 June 2026

Located in Brussels, this summit focuses on the “implementation phase” of the EU’s digital rulebook. High-level policymakers and tech leaders debate the enforcement of the AI Act, the Data Act, and the Digital Markets Act. The 2026 theme is turning regulation into competitive productivity, addressing barriers like energy constraints for compute capacity and legal certainty for cross-border data flows.

Relevance to DIA community

Policy drives procurement. Datacom members need to understand the EU’s sovereignty requirements and sustainability mandates (such as the Energy Efficiency Directive for data centres), which will dictate the technical specifications of networking equipment sold within the Eurozone.

Past Events

Hannover Messe 2026, 20-24 April 2026

As the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology, Hannover Messe 2026 focuses on “Industrial Transformation” and “Think Tech Forward.” The event showcases the latest in smart manufacturing, carbon-neutral production, and energy management. In 2026, the spotlight is heavily on Industrial AI, autonomous robots, and the integration of hydrogen fuel cells into industrial grids.

Relevance to DIA community

Members will find immense value in seeing how high-performance networking and connectivity protocols (like TSN and Industrial Ethernet) are being deployed to support real-time AI and massive IoT sensor networks in factories.
